Ace and Two: But She's a Mom

Hello~
I am writing this on Saturday, but I'll publish it on Monday, as scheduled.
And I felt like you totally needed to know that.
Totally.

So, today we had musical rehearsal. On Saturdays those usually go from 9 to 4.

Which if you're wondering, that's 7 hours, as long as a regular school day.
But I'm not complaining, I love acting.
Anyways, to the story, I have gotten the stomach flu about 5 times in the last school year, so I actually know more about it than my actual mom.
And she's a mom.
But, as we all know, moms are invincible when it comes to common illnesses, so my mom doesn't actually know how it feels.
Unless she got it a lot when she wasn't a mom.
The blue thing is a sickness.

Anyways, I know how the stomach flu works. So, when my eyes started to not work properly, basically I emotionally prepared myself for Hell until my parents came to pick me up.

But of course I couldn't just say "My eyes won't focus. I'm deathly sick and I need to go home now and get an ibuprofen and nap for four hours."

No. I needed to wait until it actually hurt and it was too late for an ibuprofen to solve the world's problems.
Who do we appreciate?

So, I ate lunch. In case you're wondering, Kess and Sushi were there. Kess is in orffestra (yes, orffestra, not orchestra), and Sushi is in choir/drama with me. Queen has been there but she had to leave for a dance recital just as my eyes started hating me.

I told Kess and Sushi about how I was probably going to die in the next four hours. (of course they replied "Ebola". We aren't actually that immature. We just poke fun of people who actually do that.) They were understanding and tried to cheer me up but at that time my head wasn't hurting yet, so it really may not have seemed like a big deal to them.

Oh, did I mention I was an hour late that morning because I didn't wake up till quarter to 10? So, in a rush, I forgot to bring a jacket. Luckily for me, Sushi let me borrow her jacket (which was two sizes too big, I'm the smallest in my group of friends and Sushi is the biggest). Despite the size difference, I was really thankful.

In the middle of lunch, my head started to hurt. After about 5 minutes it seemed almost like the apocalypse to me. Of course, all these sayings of death and Hell and apocalypse are just over exaggerations, but I just wanted to tell you how much a phase 4 headache in the stomach flu hurts. The first time I got the stomach flu last year, I actually broke down it hurt so much. I'm more used to it now, but that doesn't mean it doesn't hurt. It just means I can hide the Hell in my forehead.

I decided that I didn't want to stay here any longer because I wouldn't be able to take ibuprofen(which, by now you can tell, solves the apocalypse of the stomach flu in addition to 4 hours of sleeping).

The Holy Pill (Even though it's not actually pink)

So, I went to our conveniently-outside amphitheatre where rehearsals were taking place, and after finding the only one there was the orffestra teacher (who also teaches me piano as of a month ago). So I told him and he said he could tell I didn't look good (my skin was pale) which was no news. Every time I had a stomach flu and asked to leave school (which was 3/5 times last year) the teachers all told me that 'I didn't look good' so I knew he would reply the same way.

I used Sushi's phone to call my mom and dad, but they both didn't pick up. I learned later that they were at a church service, so they had their phones turned off. Then the orffestra teacher told me to lay down in his room (which is adjourning to the main stage, and the instruments had been taken out for rehearsals) so I grabbed a couple pillows from the instruments and lay down. Sushi and Kess were there, occasionally laying their heads next to mine and joking about how we could all be "Ebola buddies"(which Sushi later titled our G+ chat)  and then the rest of the time playing games on their phones (if they got caught they would just use the excuse that they were comforting me). Despite their uselessness, they actually did comfort me just to know they would stay by my side (that is, until lunch break was over and they had to rehearse more).

About an hour later, me not being able to nap with all the noise of rehearsal, the orffestra teacher let me call again. Luckily, this time my mom picked up, and even more luckily, they were only five minutes away.

After being picked up, I took a couple ibuprofen and napped. If you're a light sleeper like me, usually it will take a couple naps before you feel completely recovered.

So, I left at about 1 and woke up around 4:30.

Immediately after I got Skittles (my favorite candy) and started to write this.

Thank you guys for listening to me complain about how I'm a sickly child. Now, onto other news...

This week was surprisingly great other than today. I'm pretty sure I ACEd my two science tests and I know I ACEd my social studies test. As of now there are only 4 more days of school and 1 rehearsal until a 2-week winter break. On the second week of break Kess, Sushi, Kess's neighbor and I are going to our first anime convention, SacAnime (well, except Kess's neighbor, but she's a couple years older so she's been to I think 3 or 4 anime conventions). Even though I may have watched 21 anime as of now and read some manga and light novels, I actually only got into anime last July, so I didn't really go to any conventions yet.

In case you're wondering, I'm going to roleplay as Winry from Fullmetal Alchemist in her casual outfit. We actually only began to think about last month, so I didn't have much time to put together an outfit, and my parents had to pay 15,000 dollars for something about our other house up even more north California, so my siblings and I won't get as much stuff for Christmas this year. I have about the same hair color and length as Winry, and her casual outfit is pretty basic, so I thought why not go as her? I originally was going to go as Christa, but I wouldn't be able to get the SNK outfit in time. So that's how I ended up going to go as Winry to SacAnime.

Oh, let me tell you, I don't live in Sacramento, but it was the closest good anime convention near me (I live in northern California) so I used what I could. I also can't drive yet and my parents would never take me to an anime convention so I let Kess convince her parents to take me, and then after we got Sushi into anime she decided to come along too. Kess can be pretty persuasive, so I can imagine it wasn't hard to get her parents to take us, especially since her mom (who shall be referred to as Kmom from now on) watched anime in her high school and college years. Kess is 100% Taiwanese, and born and raised mostly in Taiwan, so her parents like to embrace Asian culture (even though they're not Japanese). Sometimes, after Kess or I discover a cool anime or kdrama, Kmom will stay up all night and binge-watch the whole show.

I'm not kidding.

Well, back to the subject of SacAnime, Kess is going as Touka-chan from Tokyo Ghoul. (which she adores as much as I do), and Sushi is going as Hanji from Attack on Titan/Shingeki no Kyojin (Sushi is like Kmom, a binge-watcher, so she finished the whole Attack on Titan season in about 3 days). Hanji is perfect for Sushi. They have similar hair colors, they both wear glasses, and they are both nearly insane, so I find that Sushi won't have a hard time going as Hanji.

Well, thank you guys so much for reading this. If anything happens between now and after school Monday, I'll update this. Once again, thanks!

Oh, and new thing: Video for the Week!

Since I just re-watched the entire season of Tokyo Ghoul and started the manga, and since this song makes you cry even over the burning of an ancient library that people on tumblr say humanity could be really advanced if they hadn't burned it, here is the Tokyo Ghoul theme, "Unravel", music box version!
